Before You Join

Vanilla Anarchy Survival requires Minecraft Java Edition version 1.8.9. No other version is supported. The server also enforces a required resource pack that will be sent to your client on login — you must accept it to connect. This is an intentional part of the server’s identity and cannot be bypassed.

Java Edition — 1.8.9

1

Open the Minecraft Launcher and select version 1.8.9 from the Installations tab. If you don’t have a 1.8.9 profile, create a new installation and set the version to release 1.8.9.

2

Launch Minecraft 1.8.9 and click Multiplayer

3

Click Add Server and enter the server address:

play.VanillaAnarchySurvival.com
4

Click Done, then select the server and click Join Server

5

When prompted, accept the server resource pack. This is required to play and is part of the intended experience.

About the Resource Pack

Why Is It Required?

The resource pack is not optional flavor — it is a core part of what makes Vanilla Anarchy Survival feel the way it does. It replaces modern textures with a carefully curated visual style that reinforces the nostalgic, old-school atmosphere of the server. Combined with the Beta-inspired terrain generation, the resource pack completes the visual identity and ensures every player experiences the world the way it was designed to be seen.

The pack is sent automatically by the server when you connect. Simply click “Yes” when Minecraft asks if you want to load the server resource pack. No manual download is needed.

Want the direct file and pack details anyway? Visit the Resource Pack page.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Wrong version: You must use exactly 1.8.9. Other versions will not connect.
  • Resource pack rejected: If you decline the resource pack, you will be disconnected. Make sure “Server Resource Packs” is set to Enabled or Prompt in your server settings.
  • Connection refused: Double-check the server address. The default port (25565) is used.
  • Account issues: A legitimate Minecraft Java Edition account is required. Cracked launchers are not supported.
